Challenge

1): Balancing Aesthetics with Credibility and Security
Designing an interface that was visually appealing yet immediately communicated trust, privacy, and security was challenging. The goal was to ensure users felt safe and confident while engaging with the platform.

2): Creating a Unique and Timeless Design
Infusing the sleek, modern look of the web app with a touch of historical charm to evoke timeless vibes was a creative challenge, especially when striving to stand out in a saturated dating app market.

3) Facilitating Meaningful Connections
Unlike typical dating apps focused on superficial engagement, the platform needed features to foster genuine, soulful interactions. Researching and designing for these deeper connections in an unexplored domain added complexity.

4): Incorporating Emotional and Functional Experiences
Ensuring the platform wasn’t just functional but also emotionally engaging involved dynamic prototyping and integrating smooth, beautiful animations. Achieving this balance while maintaining usability required significant effort and iteration.

The beginning chapter

You won't believe the fun part! 😁 The SH team was a creative wizard. It's like a designer's dream to have clients as crazy about creativity as we are. BUT I was on a mission to persuade them that crafting this website for an incredible user experience is the key. Backed by research, I've outlined how we can enhance the product and they're on board—because the best experience leads to the best outcomes

The Social Hall team had this awesome vision – they wanted the website to have that magical, Layla-Majnu, Sufi, calligraphy, geometry and Islamic vibe ( To sprinkle emotional connection ) -They spilled the creative beans and shared a mood-board on Milanote, giving me a sneak peek into the vibe they were after. Pictures, colors, font moods – they basically painted a vivid picture of the creativity they were craving.       

This stage is all about diving into design thinking and crafting a design system. I brought my A-game by creating a fantastic moodboard, suggesting cool fonts, and, most importantly, figuring out how to make navigating the platform feel like second nature for humans.

Setting design foundation

As a UX designer for Social Hall, my focus was on creating a seamless user journey and minimizing cognitive load for users. I laid the groundwork with detailed user flows, mapping out key experiences like intuitive scrolling, streamlined form submissions, an engaging member portal, efficient admin workflows, and purchase tracking. These wireframes were designed to act as a roadmap for the team, ensuring clarity and consistency before diving into high-fidelity designs. Through collaborative sprints and iterative feedback, we refined every detail to set the stage for a user-centric and frictionless platform.

Why dating apps fail?

→ Real-time intent.
→ Overwhelming Options.
→ Poor User experience.

What is the solution?

→ A trust-worthy app or platform.
→ Must be privacy concern
→ Registration process must be detail and must involve verification & member background
→ Meetup should be a match based not option based.

Feedbacks from users and stakeholders

I've been having weekly meetings to ensure we're on the right track, figuring out what needs improvement and what we can do to make the product not just good but amazing. And guess what? After the successful launch, I got such positive vibes from the stakeholders. They were raving about the Social Hall, and honestly, that brought the biggest smile to my face. Months of hard work paying off – it doesn't get better than that!🚀

Design handoffs

After completing the UI/UX design for Social Hall, I facilitated a seamless handoff to the development team with clear documentation and communication. To ensure alignment, I created an interactive prototype that showcased the full user journey, providing developers with a comprehensive view of both the platform’s aesthetics and functionality.
